Special Group Spotlight

STLP

Calvary Students work all through the year creating, inventing, coding, building, exploring, critical thinking and many other skills that go to competition in March at the State STLP Competition at RUPP Arena in Lexington. This year 21,000 students, coaches, and parents were in attendance at this year's event. 37 CES Students and many parents went with us. However, there were at least 30 more students that created and turned in digital competition pieces as well. Not to mention most students are exploring these same concepts to be in the competition in future years. This year competition was tougher than ever. We still Brought home some trophies. Every student who competed gave their all. We could no be more proud of their accomplishments. Big THANK YOU to Independent Stave for the grant they gave us to fund the bus to go to STLP.

Great Reads of the Month

Fortunately The Milk

By: Neil Gaiman

"I bought the milk," said my father. "I walked out of the corner shop, and heard a noise like this: t h u m m t h u m m. I looked up and saw a huge silver disc hovering in the air above Marshall Road."

"Hullo," I said to myself. "That's not something you see every day. And then something odd happened."

Find out just how odd things get in this hilarious New York Times bestselling story of time travel and breakfast cereal, expertly told by Newbery Medalist and bestselling author Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Skottie Young.

A few classes are listening to this as a read aloud.
