HKC provides recommendations on student illness

With a recent uptick in illness, the school district has received questions from families regarding guidelines for when students are sick, specifically when they test positive for COVID-19.

While there are no definitive requirements as in the past, our partners at the Healthy Kids Clinic recommend following CDC guidance for preventing the spread of respiratory viruses which can be found here.

In general, students should return to school when, for the last 24 hours, they have not had a fever and their symptoms are getting better overall.

Our partners at the Healthy Kids Clinic also want families to know that they offer several services in the schools including:

  • Same day sick visits to students, family members, and staff

  • Acute visits

  • Physicals and sports physicals

  • Immunizations

  • Flu shots

  • TB skin test

  • Labs

  • Behavioral health services

  • Dental services

  • Vision services

You can find out more about the Healthy Kids Clinic here.
